Prof. Charlotte Williams OBE FRS is leading the recently awarded £13m EPSRC Sustainable Chemicals and Materials Manufacturing Hub (SCHEMA), which is a UK-wide research programme focused on transforming the chemical and polymer industries by replacing fossil-based feedstocks and processes with renewable raw materials, circular design, and digitally enabled, sustainable manufacturing. The SCHEMA Hub brings together multiple universities, industry partners and policymakers to tackle “grand challenges” in catalysis, polymerization, process engineering, digital technologies, and sustainability assessment. Prof. Matthew Rosseinsky OBE FRS is a co-investigator of the hub providing leadership in materials chemistry, contributing his expertise functional and inorganic materials.
